Transfer data from an Android telephone to a Pixel

Step 1: Items you tin copy to your Pixel

What copies during setup

You tin can copy these during setup:

  • Apps and app data
  • Music, photos, and videos
  • Google Accounts
  • Contacts stored on your phone or a SIM card
  • Text messages
  • Most phone settings (varies by telephone and Android version)

Step 2: Go ready to copy

  1. Charge both phones.
  2. On your current phone, install all available updates. Learn how to update Android.
  3. Discover what you'll demand.See what comes with your Pixel telephone.
    • A cablevision that works with your current phone, like the cable you apply to charge information technology.
    • Your Quick Switch Adapter, if your current phone or cablevision has a connection other than USB-C.
    • Your SIM card and SIM card insertion tool, unless Google Fi is your mobile carrier and you're using eSIM.
  4. On your Pixel telephone:
    1. Plough on your Pixel phone.
    2. Insert your SIM card. Learn how to get a SIM menu and insert it.
    3. You'll see a Kickoff button. If you lot don't see "Start," learn how to return to setup.

Stride iii: Copy your information

You can copy data to your new Pixel telephone with:

  • A cloud backup
  • Your old telephone with a cablevision (recommended)
  • A Wi-Fi connection (Pixel 6 & Pixel 6 Pro but)

Copy data from a cloud fill-in

  1. On your Pixel phone:
    • Tap Commencement.
    • Connect to a Wi-Fi network or your mobile carrier.
  2. When asked to "Copy Apps & Data," tap Next.
  3. When asked to "Use your one-time device," tap Can't use old phone.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to log in to your Google Business relationship and access your backup.

Re-create information from your old phone with a cablevision (recommended)

  1. On your Pixel telephone:
    • Tap Get-go.
    • Connect to a Wi-Fi network or mobile carrier.
  2. When asked to "Re-create Apps & Data," tap Next and then Copy your information.
  3. When asked to "Employ your erstwhile device", tapAdjacent.
  4. Plow on and unlock your current phone.
  5. Plug one finish of a cable into your current phone.
  6. Plug the cable's other stop into your Pixel telephone or into the Quick Switch Adapter and plug the adapter into your Pixel phone.
  7. On your current telephone, tap Copy.
  8. Follow the on-screen instructions.

    • To copy all your data, tap Re-create.
    • To re-create just some data:

Important: You can but transfer data with Wi-Fi if your current device is an Android device running Android 5 or after and your new device is a Pixel vi or Pixel six Pro.

  1. On your Pixel phone:
    • Tap First.
    • Connect to a Wi-Fi network or mobile carrier.
  2. When asked to "Copy Apps & Data," tap Next and then Copy your information.
  3. When asked to "Employ your sometime device," tap Adjacent.
  4. When asked to "Find your old phone's cablevision," tap No cable?.
  5. In the notification, tap Ok.
  6. Turn on and unlock your current telephone.
  7. On your current phone, open the notification to gear up your new telephone.
  8. On your Pixel phone, you'll get a list of your data.
    • To copy all your data, tap Copy.
    • To copy only some data:
      • Turn off what yous don't want.
      • Tap Re-create.
  9. When your transfer is washed, you can use your telephone.

Troubleshoot copying your data

  • If you didn't transfer your data when yous first turned on your phone, learn how to return to setup.
